The Galax Police Department communications center is the most technologically advanced facility in southwest Virginia. The center provides dispatch services for the police department as well as housing dispatchers who operate Twin County Central Communications that is the E-911 center for Galax, Carroll and Grayson Counties. The police department serves as the administrative agent for the Twin County 911 Commission.
